0 Benefits of Wooden Toys

Toys a child plays with are very important, they provide a world for a child to grow and use their imagination. This is very important for a child developmentally. One way that you can help your child with this is to provide them with the best toys, natural wooden toys are great for this. They take away the over stimulating flash of many plastic toys and provide a chance for a child to progress on their own. They are also much better for the environment than plastic toys.

Children are often attracted to battery operated toys because they have a lot a flash, they provide quick entertainment. However wooden, natural toys, while containing less, provide more for the child. These toys invite open ended play; they allow a child to use their imagination at a much greater level. They are able to focus on just one toy and all its possibilities rather than their mind jumping from one battery operated toy to the next. This allows for a child to have some downtime when they play, and their minds imagination can just progress naturally.

Due to all the blinking lights and visual affects on battery operated toys it can often over stimulate the child. They are able to obtain the overall effect of a toy by simply pressing a button. Their mind isn't able to develop the same way it would with a natural toy where the play would be more organic. Wooden toys are made of one piece, smooth, and invite imagination and more creative play. A child is using their mind at a much greater capacity.

Along with being great for the mental health of your child, they are also good for their physical health and the environment. Some the plastic used on the toys can be harmful to your child's health. When phthalates are added to the toys to make then soft and bendable they are not bonded to the plastic which means they can leak out. These phthalates have been linked to multiple health problems. However, if your child plays with plastic toys every so often they are not at a high probably of being exposed, but why risk it? Children also put many different things in their mouths, including their toys, so it's better to just stay away from it. Natural toys are also much better for the environment, wooden toys are much more durable than plastic toys and will last much longer. And once you're done with them they can be recycled. The non-organic cotton used often sprayed with pesticides that are harmful to the land that it is grown on and the areas surrounding it.

A child's play time is important for both the child and the parent. It is important for both to get their "down time" to make sure your child is getting the most out of their time, it's important to provide them with adequate toys. A child needs to learn how to use their imagination, natural wooden toys allow for this. When you leave out the flash of plastic toys, a child is able to enter a world of their own.
