0 How to make your own diaper wipes.

It is quick and simple to make your own diaper wipes. If you have scraps leftover from making your diapers then this is a great way to use them up and not have to throw them away. If you have any old towels or shirts that need to be thrown out you can tear them up and use them as well. If you prefer you can go to a fabric store and get some cute fabric to use.

Choosing the size you would like to make your wipes. The 4X8 size wipe will fit into a diaper wipe container. If you are using a thin fabric you can make your wipes 8X8 and just fold the fabric over in half.

Now that your wipes are cut to the size that you like its time to make the solution for your wipes. You can dampen them one at a time with just warm water for each diaper change. If you prefer you can make a solution and put it on your wipes so they are moist and ready.

Basic Solution:
2 Tab. baby wash
2 Tab. olive oil
2 C. water

Pour all ingredients into a jar with a lid. Close the lid tightly onto the jar and gently shake to mix ingredients. Lay your wipes flat into a wipe container and pour about half the mixture over the wipes. You can choose to make your wipes just damp or more saturated by adding or subtracting the amount of solution you put on your wipes. Any leftover solution you have you can store in a jar with the lid on in the refrigerator.

Aloe Vera Solution:
2 C. warm water
1/4C aloe vera gel
2 drops tea tree essential oil

Add all ingredients to a pan and warm on the stove. Do not boil. Add to a jar and let cool. Pour desired amount over wipes and store the rest of the solution in a jar with a lid in the refrigerator. Aloe vera is great to use when your baby is getting a rash.

You can use the basic solution recipe and change it to make your own sent. Olive oil is really good to help keep skin healthy, aloe is good to heal skin that is rashed out. Calendula oil is good for those really bad diaper rashes. You can add a few drips into the aloe vera solution to make an extra effective solution to fight that nasty diaper rash that won't go away. When making your own solution be very careful that you don't add too much essential oil. These oils can be harsh and make your babies skin breakout if you use too much. I would stick to 1 drop of oil to 1 cup of water.
