0 Snugly Baby Blanket

I love baby blankets; they are the sort of thing that makes you think of warm snugly homely thoughts. When my babies were born I was inundated with them, I had fleece ones, I had a lovely homemade knitted one with a silky lining. I have a couple of big ones that I bought to go in the cot and matched the bedding and nursery. My granny also gave me a couple that were from charity shops and they were homemade ones. You might think that I had too many but I used them all for different things and it was great to have spares that I could use when others were in the wash.

I used the larger ones in the cot at night and then I had a couple down stairs to use if my baby fell asleep in the bouncy chair. I had a couple in the pram and then a spare in the baby change bag. All of them were well used, the fleece ones didn't really look that great after I had finished using them as they had gone all bobbly, but the knitted ones were still in perfect condition. When my sister was expecting I was able to pass them all down to her and she was really pleased.

Even though I had plenty of baby blankets I still could not stop myself buying another one that I saw in Ikea because I thought it was so gorgeous and I could not resist it, although I lost it somewhere quite quickly after I had bought it, I think it may have fallen off the buggy.

I always think that amongst other things, baby blankets are a good gift to get for someone who has had a new baby. You can get a range of styles and prices so you can always get one to suit your budget. I think new mums will always find a use for a blanket even if they have got some already and it is quite often something that will be kept and treasured and may even become a special comfort blanket. If you buy clothes, babies do grow out of them quite quickly so you may not get as much use out of them.

A great place to look for baby blankets are online, department stores, supermarkets, charity shops, nearly new sales. If you are particularly creative you could even think about making one. I think your friends or family would absolutely love it if you presented them with a homemade present, it would make it even more special and of course it would be completely unique and you could even personalise it! You could make it to fit the colour scheme of the nursery or to match the pram or buggy.

Even though I don't have babies any more, I am always tempted to buy baby blankets for myself; they could be great to cover your legs on the sofa!

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.
